Fall and Winter Activities At The Ranch

Remember when winter meant looking forward to family gatherings around the holidays, sharing a sleigh ride with that "special someone", scurrying through your busy day to come home, get outside chores finished so you could come inside to get warm?  Well that time will be upon us once again before we know it.  The fall colors in all their brilliance are giving way to the early signs of snow showers.  The San Juan mountains, snowcapped perfectly, are telling us to prepare for a long winter this year.  If the thought of curling up with your honey on a leather sofa in front of a warm, crackling fire with a glass of fine wine is calling you then call us to arrange your own "magical getaway" this winter.  Enjoy some of our local activities.

Sleigh Rides

Glide along to the rhythm of sleigh bells as a team of Percherons take you on a twilight tour......... Upon your return to The Ranch you will be greeted by a crackling fire, warm drinks and light refreshments.  Warm corn bread and home made elk chili are sure to be included.

Book our large sleigh for up to 20 people for $650.00 or for a more intimate experience book our small sleigh for up to 5 people for $400.00.

Do something fun with a group of your friends! Also available on a per person basis $150.00, space permitting.

Every Sunday afternoon at 2:00 available, or other times, when booked in advance.  Please call ahead for more information and reservations.

Wagon / Hay rides

Come celebrate the fall colors with a horse drawn wagon ride. Get a group of friends together.....what fun!

Snowmobiling with Telluride Snowmobile Adventures

Angel Ridge is happy to join with Telluride Snowmobile Adventures for the winter of 2004 offering to our guests a multitude of tours exploring the high country!  Telluride's mining history has left a legacy of roads and tails through high alpine settings and deserted ghost towns.  Knowledgeable guides keep you entertained and interpret the interesting history and scenery of the spectacular area you will see first hand.

Several different lengths and types of tours are available, seven days a week during the ski season.  The terrain is advanced and varies from steep, narrow trails that twist through heavily forested mountain areas to open meadows and high prairie basins.  All trips are guided tours.  First time snowmobilers are welcome!  A full safety orientation is given before each tour.  Call or e-mail Snowmobile Adventures or Angel Ridge Ranch to get information and prices of tours, and to reserve your spot on a tour that will be long remembered!  When you arrive back to the ranch, soak in the hot tub with hot chocolate waiting!

San Juan Hut System......Ski hut to hut!  The hut system is designed to accommodate all levels of skiing ability.

San Juan hut system operates five back-country ski huts connecting Telluride, Ridgway, and Ouray. The route follows the Dallas and Adler Creek Trails in the Mount Sneffles Range of the San Juan Mountains. Each hut can be individually accessed or advanced skiers can travel hut -to-hut European tradition. Above each hut there is more terrain for the more adventurous intermediate, advanced, and extreme powder -hound!

For more information call (970) 626-3033.  Ask for Joe Ryan or visit www.sanjuanhuts.com.

The Luge Slide sled and tubing hill

It's not a real luge track but it may be more fun!  We have shaped and groomed one sledding hill for our version of this exciting, exhilarating ride.  Sleds are provided for "kids" of all ages!  After a full day of fun, all will return home to soak in the hot tub or drop off to sleep and dream of the next day's adventure....

Ouray Hot Springs 1/2 price.
