Equine Rescue ProgramChallenging Spirits Horseshoe Special Fund Raiser The Sanctuary could sure use your help with trimming it's budget and some hooves. Horses need to have their hooves trimmed by a farrier every 8 weeks. That's 72 trimmings a year based on a minimum of 12 horses, or a total of $2,160.00 for basic foot care which is mandatory. For your kind donation of $30.00, a special horse will receive a hoof trimming and YOU will receive a polished and painted horseshoe to hang over your doorway. Tradition has it that a horseshoe previously worn by a horse will bring good luck to the building it hangs in. A horseshoe pointing up will catch and hold good luck for you and a horseshoe pointing down lets good luck flow upon all who come and go through the doorway. January 2005 Angel Ridge Ranch will open it's gates to a welcome new endeavor... "Challenging Spirits Sanctuary", (www.challengingspirits.com) Inspired by a very special horse named "Ranger". His presence in spirit will remain here at the ranch to oversee the need of loving homes to special horses who need a second chance. a 501-3c, non-profit status has been acquired to facilitate and Equine Rescue Program dedicated to helping horses in need. Shelter, food, daily care, medical treatment, foot care, education and qualified adoption services will be Challenging Spirits focus. An extra emphasis will be on rescuing and placement of Premarin mares and foals. The program will also include working with at-risk youth to introduce them to responsible horse ownership and rehabilitation. Having operated a therapeutic riding program for 12 years has given me many experiences first-hand between horses and children. The interaction has been beneficial and positive to both parties and all involved in the process. Your help in this endeavor in any small (or big) way will not go unnoticed, and will help to getting our program off to a great start.
